I set up a new alternate forum to use until our LTAH server and forum are back online. Everyone will have to register for new forum accounts as user info from the other forums will not work there. Everyone is welcome to register. Enjoy and post away!

Site down - Week 2

Well, LTAH has been down for over a week and I still haven't received any word from Matt about what's going on. So, I guess all we can do is wait until I hear from him or he gets the site back up without contacting me. I have no idea what the problem is or why it's taking so long, but I suspect the LTAH dedicated server needs a lot work. A few months ago Matt told me the LTAH server is in bad shape and will soon need new hardware and tech help.

I've received a lot of kind offers from members willing to help us out monetarily and with technical and hosting help. I really appreciate the offers of help and donations, but I can't accept anything until I hear from Matt. If and when the site is back up, then we will make info available about how to donate. I know it's getting expensive to keep the LTAH server/site going. Matt has been generously paying the costs for the server out of his own pocket since it's been up.

Hopefully I'll be hearing from Matt soon. When I do, I'll post info here. For now, we can temporarily post links to new stuff here in the blog comments if anyone wants to. Thanks for everyone's support during this down time.

The Forum is Down

Just to let everyone know, the forum and the LTAH server is currently down. I have no idea what happened or what the problem is. I've notified Matt about the situation and hopefully he'll have the site up again very soon. I'll post further updates here if the situation continues. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The Forum Has Crashed - Day 10

Good news. I heard from Matt. He was away on a trip and wasn't able to contact me or assess the situation. He is currently working to fix the forum problem. While he is working on the forum problem, the server may be offline periodically. Hopefully we'll be back up soon. I'll post more info here on the blog when I get it.

The Forum Has Crashed - Day 6

Day 6 and the forum is still down. Still no word from Matt about the forum situation. For those inquiring minds, there's nothing I can do other than wait until Matt fixes the problems. With the forum crashed as it is, I don't have access to the internal server operations for the forum and I can't access the forum admin area to do anything. I guess we just have to wait patiently until we hear from Matt.

The Forum Has Crashed

The forum is down right now because of technical problems. The forum crashed because of SQL errors, but our server is working just fine. Our other hair-related sites and the other ones on our server are working and you can accces them in the LTAH Links section on the right side of this page. So far, no ETA for when it will be back up. We will try to get it back up as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Access Error Problems

The LTAH Forums have been experiencing MYSQL errors since yesterday afternoon. These errors have caused problems for members to access our message boards and posted topics. Matt has been notified of the problem and hopefully he will have a fix soon. Seeing that this is a holiday weekend though, it may take some time before we're back at 100%. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

LTAH is NOT an "Attack Site"

On Saturday www.ltahserver.com was flagged by Google for being an "Attack Site". As most of our members know, our forum has been subjected to periodic spam attacks in the last few months. We take spam very seriously and monitor our boards regularly and remove it as fast as we can.

Apparently what happened on Saturday was a spammer managed to get on one of our message boards and posted external links to a known web site or network that is associated with malicious material. The Google bot must have scanned our forum right after the offending links were posted, and automatically flagged the ltahserver.com domain as an "Attack Site." The offending links were removed by one of our moderators shortly after they were posted, so nobody was subjected to malicious material that would have been harmful to your computer.

I did a scan on our web site to check for anything that could be harmful, and everything is fine. There are not any viruses, infections, malicious software or other problems with our site. You can check McAfee's results here:

I verified our website and sent in the necessary info to Google. Within 24 hours Google reviewed and rescanned our website and removed their warnings and our site from their "Attack Site" list. I can assure all members that there is no malicious software or material on our forum or site. All of the webpages on the ltahserver.com domain are completely safe. Everything is back to normal and just fine.

LTAH Server is Down

Just to let everyone know that the LTAH Forums and all of the webpages on the LTAH server have been down and inaccessible since this afternoon. I have no idea what the problem is because I don't maintain the server or have access to the server's inner workings. I've contacted Matt to let him know the situation, but have yet to hear from him. Hopefully he will have the server and the forum up and running soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

MYSQL Errors

The LTAH Forums has been experiencing MYSQL errors for the last couple of weeks. These errors have slowed down our server and has made it difficult for some members to access the forum or post messages properly. The errors usually occur when there is heavy traffic on our forum. At times, when there is less traffic, the forum works just fine. Please bear with us as we are working to solve the problem. It's going to take awhile to pinpoint the cause of the errors and a fix for them.

We want to re-assure our members that our forum is safe to use and there are no viruses, spyware or malware associated with our web site. Hopefully we'll have the forum back to normal soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

LTAH Photo Gallery Problems

For everyone's information, the LTAH Photo Gallery has not been functional for some time. The Photo Gallery is up but the photos can not be viewed. All of the photos are still in our database, so they are not lost. We are working to get the Photo Gallery fully operational again very soon.

In the meantime, please do not upload any photos to the Photo Gallery until it is working again. If you have photos you want to upload, please upload them to our server as attachments in your LTAH Forum posts. Thanks.

Unfortunately the forum and the photo gallery are still down and can not be accessed. Matt is still working on getting them up and running. Hopefully both sites will be back up and fully operational very soon. Thanks for your patience.

LTAH Forum Is Down

It looks like the forum is down. When trying to access the forum homepage a 1040 SQL general error page is displayed. We had a similar problem which affected the forum about 6 months ago. Apparently this is a known bug in the php forum system which affects the functionality of the forum database. This is not a LTAH server problem or a problem of too many connections. It is only affecting the LTAH Forum and the LTAH Photo Gallery, as the rest of the web pages and files on our server are available and working just fine.

Matt has been notified of the problem and has been working on it all day. Hopefully he can resolve the problem and have the forum and photo gallery back up very soon. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

This is the place to come for news and information in case the LTAH server goes down or is experiencing technical difficulties. We will try to keep our members updated on this blog with the latest news and developments when problems to our web sites arise.
